Boman Irani, the Indian actor has immortalized Dr. J.C Ashtana, which he had played in the 2003 release ‘Munnabhai M.B.B.S.’. Boman is a well-known Indian actor and is also a famous theatre person. Before moving into the film industry of India, he was busy in selling potato chips. He was a photographer when he stared his career. Soon he joined theatre and his first cameo was in Alyque Padamsee’s play ‘Roshni’ and a he has done a double role in Raell Padamsee’s play ‘Family Ties’ opposite Pearl Padamsee in the year 1996. Hence his journey has been from potato chips seller to a photographer and finally to a talented actor.
In Feroz Abbas Khan’s play ‘Mahatma vs. Gandhi’ Boman had portrayed the role of Mahatma Gandhi. This play explored the troubled relationship of Gandhi with his eldest son Hiralal Gandhi. Boman has even featured in many Television commercials out of which the commercials on the biscuit ‘Krack-Jack’ were most successful and also popular. Boman though debuted in Hindi films in the movie ‘Josh’, he went unnoticed. Boman shot to fame with the movie ‘Munnabhai M.B.B.S.’. he has even appeared in its sequel ‘Lage Raho Munna Bhai’ in 2006, and he essayed the character of Lucky Singh. In the 2006 remake of ‘Don’ named ‘Don- The Chase Begins Again’, Boman played the role of a cop who is actually a goon. His other noteworthy performances include: ‘Main Hoon Na’ which came in 2004, ‘Khoshla Ka Ghosla’, where he played a comic negative character, ‘Being Cyrus’ and few more.
