Kay Kay Menon: Outstanding!

Kay Kay Menon is a very talented actor who has been acting in the Indian cinema for quite a while, now. He was raised in Ambarnath, Pune, Maharastra. He is an MBA and ahs done specialization in marketing from the B-school PUMBA (DMS, Pune University). He began his acting career with theatre and gradually started acting in television and finally opted for films. In the year 1995, Kay Kay made his debut with the movie ‘Naseem’. The film was followed by ‘Bhopal Express’ which came in the year 1999.

It was with the film ‘Hazaaron Khwaishein Aisi’ which was directed by Sudhir Mishra, that Kay Kay got recognized as an actor. He was very much appreciated together with the newcomers ‘Shiney Ahuja’ and ‘Chitrangada Singh’ who were also there in the film. Kay Kay hasd has shared his screen with Amitabh Bachchan in the films: ‘Deewar’ which came in 2004, was a flop but his acting was appreciated and ‘Sarkar’ in 2005, where he played the eldest son of Amitabh Bachchan. His role in the movie was that of a hot-tempered person which he had portrayed very well. The other notable movies of Kay Kay include: ‘Corporate’ for which he received much acclaim, ‘Black Friday’ where he played the role of DCP Rakesh Maria and was widely appreciated for his performance. This movie was based on the book by journalist S Hussain Zaidi on the 1993 Bombay Bomb Blasts. In the film ‘Life in a Metro’ which was released last year , Kay Kay Menon has given an outstanding performance.

This graduate in history with a first class degree from New Delhi’s St. Stephen’s College is a much acclaimed name in the Indian Fashion Industry. In a special report of Times magazine in 1996, Rohit Bal was named as ‘India’s Master of fabric and fantasy’. His high profile clientele includes many of India’s famous names from media, film, fashion and the corporate world. Before making it big in the Indian fashion industry, this extremely talented and creative person has worked with his brother’s export company. He created his first line of traditional designer wear for men in the year 1990 and the rest is history. He is very much concerned with design as an art form. He is the trendsetter. His sense of fashion is intelligent, studied and also imaginative and inspiring. He has finely hones his aesthetics. He works his each design to perfection with tremendous attention given in every detail. Rohit has designed for both well-known Indian and foreign personalities and the names include Uma Thurman, Cindy Crawford, Pamela Anderson, Naomi Campbell and many more. The famous tennis player Anna Kournikova has walked the ramp for his show. Rohit has been successful in displaying his masterpieces in the fashion shows around the world which include countries like New York, London, Paris, Dubai, Singapore, Mauritius, Sao Paolo and all the major cities in India including New Delhi, Mumbai, Chennai, Bangalore, Calcutta.

Dino Morea: The stud!

Dino Morea was born to Indian mother and an Italian father. He has remained a supermodel and was very much popular and renowned as a model. Before coming into films, he has appeared in a number of advertisements of which his advertisement of the ‘Live in Jeans’ was the most successful. He has even appeared in a controversial advertisement of ‘Calida’ with Bipasa Basu, the popular actress of Bollywood. Rocky S: a technically sound designer

One of the known names in the Indian fashion industry and also in Bollywood is Rock S. Rocky is a well known and popular fashion designer of India. He was a student of commerce in college, but he always wanted to do something creative and artistic. Rocky took a formal training on fashion designing from the J.D. Institute of Fashion Designing and thereafter he joined the departmental store, ROOPAM as a designer. Only after gaining the experience and knowing about the technical expertise, he chose to enter the film industry.

The first artist for whom Rocky S had designed was Akshay Kumar, who also proved to be his launch pad in Bollywood . in the year 1994, he was chosen to designs for dress in the film ‘Aatish: Feel The Fire’. Then what followed has created history. By now he has designed in numerous movies and for variety of stars starting from Raveen Tandon to Hrithik Roshan. The prominent films where he has designed include: ‘Fiza’, ‘Yaadein’, ‘Ajnaabe’ , ‘Kabhi Khusi Kabhi Gham’, ‘Mujhse Dosti Karoge’ , ‘Koi Mil Gaya’ , ‘Krishh’ and many more. In each and every film where Rocky has designed, he has showed his talent and his level of creativeness. This creative bent of mind of Rocky has taken him to great heights as a fashion designer. He has a store of retailing exclusive for both men and women wear at Juhu with the name ROCKY-S. He is considered as one of the leading fashion designers in India.

Arjun the handsome Rampal

Arjun Rampal is undoubtedly one of the most handsome actors of Indian film industry. He is first a super model then an actor. Arjun was born on 26th November, 1972. Arjun Rampal was a very famous model and he was discovered in a discotheque in Delhi by Rohit Bal. Arjun was a student of the prestigious Kodaikanal International School located in Palani Hills,Tamil Nadu. His mother was teacher in that school. The college form where he had graduated is Hindu College, in Delhi then. He is one of the most sought after male supermodels of India.

Arjun has appeared in a number of music videos which include one by Late Nusraat Fateh Ali Khan and by Rajiv Rai in ‘Don’t Marry’ with model Namrata Baruwah. His launchpad film in Bollywood film was ‘’Pyaar, Ishq Aur Mohabbat’ where he was paired opposite Kirti Reddy and had Suniel Shetty and Aftab Shivdashani in prominent roles. Though the film did not turn well at the box office, yet it helped Arjun have plenty of offers. He won the Award of the International Indian Film Academy for Face of the Year in 2002. His debut movie was originally ‘Moksha’ but it was released after ‘Pyaar, Ishq Aur Mohabbat’. Arjun’s other films include ‘Aankhen’, ‘Dil Hai Tumhaara’, ‘Yakeen’ and’Ek Ajnabee’. He has even done supporting role in films like ‘Kabhi Alvida Naa Kehna’ and ‘Don – The Chase Begins Again’. His next big release will be ‘The Last Lear’. Rahul Bose

Rahul Bose: Mainstream or art house ?
Rahul Bose who is a skilled actor of Indian cinema is a social activist and also a rugby player and represents the Indian team. He fell in love with theatre ever since he started acting at the age of six, the n he had played a lead role in his school play, ‘Tom, the Piper’s Son’. As his acting grew with him, he played the lead role in Tim Murari’s ‘The Square Circle’ at the Leicester Haymarket in England. Rahul Bose was born on July 27, 1967, he has spent his childhood in Kolkata, later moved to Mumbai with his family. He was a student of the Cathedral and John Connon School in Mumbai and has done his graduation form Sydenham College.

‘English, August’ which was directed by Dev Benegal was his first film. Rahul Bose is considered as one of the most versatile and natural actors of Indian films. Before coming into films, Rahul has remained an advertising copywriter, worked for the Rediffusion advertising agency in Mumbai. For the film ‘Split Wide Open’ Rahul won the Best Actor at the Singapore Film Festival. His almost all films are excellent and his performance in every film of his is appreciated. The films where he has given a commendable performance are Mr. And Mrs. Iyer, and ‘Jhankaar Beats’, these are all international awards-winning films, ‘Chameli’, ‘Everybody Says I am Fine’ for which he won the ‘John Schlesinger Award – Honorable Mention’. He has been called by the ‘Time’ magazine ‘the superstar of Indian art house cinema’.

Emraan Hashmi

The kissing guru:Emraan Hashmi !
Emraan Hashmi , the actor is better known for his kissing scenes on screen than his acting. Of course this does not mean he is not a good actor, he indeed acts well. Emraan was born on 24th March, 1979, and his full name is Emraan Anwar Hashmi. He was born to a Muslim father and a Catholic mother. He is also the nephew of the famous director and producer of Indian cinema Mahesh Bhatt. His debut film was ‘Footpath’ which came in the year 2003. Viram Bhatt who is also the nephew of Mahesh Bhatt directed this movie. Though the film did not fair well in the box office, but Hasmi did a commendable job in portraying the he dangerous, crazy, yet, lovable bad person.

However, it was with the movie ‘Murder’ that Emraan Hashmi shot to fame. The movie was directed by the much-acclaimed filmmaker Anurag Basu. Emraan’s role had some negative shades, which he had portrayed very well. This murder thriller proved to a hit in the box office, and the music of the film created records. The film also starred Mallika Sherawt and Ashmit Patel, who is the brother of Bollywood actress Amisha Patel He mostly appears in movies directed by Vikram Bhatt and Mohit Suri, his other relative. His other films include: ‘Kalyug’ where he played a supporting role, ‘Aksar’, ‘Zeher’ opposite Shamita Shetty, ‘Ganster’ where he played the role pf a cop, and the film was quite a big hit, ‘Asig Banaya Apne’and few more.
